Product transparency draft · updated 17 October 2026
Cookies and browser storage
BalconyBuddy currently uses only storage needed for security, sign-in and the browser garden. Advertising and analytics are off.
Essential cookies
Laravel uses a session cookie to keep a signed-in session and a CSRF cookie or token to protect forms from cross-site requests. If you choose “remember me,” an authentication cookie may keep you signed in. These are used to provide requested account and security functions.
Local browser storage
The guest garden and optional guest city preference use local storage. This keeps the no-account experience on the same device and browser. It is not sent to the server unless you explicitly save the garden to an account. You can export or clear the garden from My garden and remove the city under Location settings.
No advertising or analytics cookies
The current application does not load advertising, analytics or social tracking scripts. There is therefore no nonessential-cookie choice banner. If those features are introduced, they must stay off until the applicable consent controls and this notice are updated.
